Yes, it seems not all mods follow the same protocol.

You know all but you and your buddy of the 2,000 of folks who log in here can figure it out just fine. Its really not as complicated as you make it. In fact all the major forums use this method and their members are able to figure it out too. IF you really dont know maybe spend a while in each forum looking at the titles and studying them. Then you can get the flavor of what belongs where.

Does someone posting 50 threads a day on PT about imaginary gambling trips to the West Coast being disruptive to the PT? I am pretty sure people reading the PT are so excited when these threads come up and don't disrupt the PT.

I think the question is raised, because its different today than it was 1 week ago.... from 2005 till 2010 it was one way. suddenly things changed. People are trying to find those boundaries. That's human nature.

But is it worth losing long term supporters and patrons where loyalty has gone both ways for years in many manners by being overly punitive when the inevitable "testing of boundaries occurs"?

Who are we protecting by putting a thread about no carb diet in the PZ? who would be offended by that? some of the above mentioned 2000 folks?

what would make all this tension go away? what would spark it more?

Still no clear answers. Some mods ban people, others move threads, others do nothing, and everyone who runs this place is fine with that because we should "just know what belongs where?" When did this become the case? I've been here for over 2 years posting and it was never an issue. Sticky each mod and his specific rules, otherwise I may have to become psychic in order to post in the correct forum. A really great example is there is a thread about Gay Muslims that would be considered offensive to many but hasn't been moved. Then during the same time period other threads that have NOTHING OFFENSIVE WHATSOEVER are moved. Please explain.

Probably best to to make sure that any threads criticising SBR in any way, shape or form are kept in the private zone. Then again, it's probably best not to post anything like that in the first place.
