how do you determine if your side has and edge big enough to sell points

i think instead of going in big on certain plays..... say you liked jets +3....


instead of going in big for 5units instead of one or two....wouldn't it be good to sell down to +.5 or pk and only bet 2 units..... on plays like that long term?

I shop around to find the line that I like. I don't usually buy/sell points. If I want +3 I can find +3 somewhere.

At any given time the line can be anywhere from +1 to +3 on those games.
