You can bet 5 points on any underdog. The minimum risk amount for a favorite is 6 to win 5. The reason for this is, lower bets are converted to +100 wagers even if they're -140, -150 and up. Through testing and poster play we were able to identify this loophole.
SBR Forum gives away 6 points per day with one log-in and post within a 24 hour period, so overall it affords one bet a day assuming a poster doesn't want to run up their points balance via SBRpicks participation.

for the math people (think tank), it seems the min bet you should really make on a -110 game is 11 point. risking 11 gets you 10 while risking 6 gets you 5. the 11 to 10 ratio is at the puts it a -110 mark but at 6 to 5 it drops down to almost -120
