Funny you say this. In the past, I've had some pizza delivery guys betting $10-$25 a game and consistently win most weeks, and some highly paid guys betting $100-$300 or more a game losing their ass.
Regardless of occupation, most here shouldn't be gambling. After all 95% or more of all gamblers lose in the longterm. But they still do it because they enjoy it.

No. Don't get cops involved.
Shop for what you need partswise on the used market in your area, salvage yards go on eBay have someone mail you a damn bumper if need be.
Find a mechanic who will put the shit on your car.
Make your out of pocket expense, mechanic and parts, no more than $900...you can prolly do better than that really if you just invest some time in scrounging up the parts and a hungry mechanic.
Lotta mechanics around where you live.
Still make the expense to him come in at $1300...get another 800 from the guy ASAP.
Then ****ing write it off, never see the cat again.
Theres a path of gracefuleness open to you and you still get some cash left for you at the end.
DUI is out the window on this thing.

Yeah....you prolly should have reported it when it happened....I don't know law well and especially as it relates to insurance claims but seems to me if you report now you make yourself open to charges for failure to report and leaving the scene of an accident.
and the insurance company just ignore the claim anyway because you've had a while to inflict additional damage on your car.
Man, this is too bad. You just in the beginning agreed to not report because you're a good dude....
This will work out somehow, your initial kindness will be rewarded....
If your door is ****ed though there might very well be frame damage.
1800 sounding a lot more reasonable now...as a quote.

You can still get a police report, just tell the cops you didn't want him to get in trouble as he was drinking. And that you need the accident report now since he's not paying. They will look at his car also to verify the damage. If he doesn't pay for it you could take him to court.

I thought you photochopped that to make Pecos Bill look bad.
I googled it myself and its at the very top!
No disrespect Pecos Bill, but maybe getting a job delivering pizzas is better than scamming SBR so you could get a freeplay. LOL.

If you submit this "claim" to insurance
DEF make a video of that because if the insurance company has security guards they are gonna come and lift the paper that has you claim information on it from the desk of the secretary and toss it in your face and beat your ass, pummel you in the lobby.
You'll be petitioning the other customers bu they'll be reading magazines and not help you.
You'll get knocked thru a window, glass will shatter reign down onto the street
and you're bumass will be bloodied laying wailing

had a friend that did the same thing, except she was the drunk that hit another guy at a liquour store.
she went to the ATM, paid $500 cash and the guy went on his way. he was driving a beater though and the $500 wasnt going towads fixing his junk.
she reported it on her insurance.
WTF, is $500 the universal monetary amount to make a DUI go away

Brock, if this guy says he isn't going to pay for it, then get the police report done now. Does the guy have insurance? The investigators will see his cars paint on your car, and he better be honest that he hit you, or that will be shown in court that he lied. You can play hardball too Brock, isn't your neck and back hurting from the whiplash? It might be time to go see the chiropracator.

I know a guy who is out of work collecting unemployment, who says he will never, ever, work for less than $25 an hour. Will see when his benefits run out, mortgage is due, and bills are piling up, if he is still too "Proud" to take a lower paying job.

I agree with you. Why people make fun of someone making an honest living and not being a burden to society never makes sense to me. Especially someone working in hazardous weather.
Usually an insurance claim under $2,000 would likely be considered a "small" claim and not effect your rates unless you had problems in the past. Not sure if it's too late for a police report, but I wouldn't put it off much longer, though. Use the bad weather as a reason for not reporting to police right away. You could also show the police report to your insurance agent.

Unless this guy gave you 3,000+ on the spot to fix the car and pay you off, it's not worth the risk you are taking. At this point file a claim and move on.
