Close, but now he'll probably seek help and this will become -EV.

I always halfway think this is just all part of his act. I mean he's got a decent life, friends, family, etc. I don't see him quite the same as some of those other comedians who OD'ed, etc. He's just playing that angle because it's such a stereotype. I think it would be more likely if this was all more hidden rather than him talking about it in his work on a daily basis.

One thing, when the Stern show breaks up or Artie goes away from it, look for trouble. I think he does use the show as a support crutch, if there's even half truth to how he presents himself. I could see him getting out of control if he has to live his life on the road.

It's not an act, the guy has drug problems. He is spiraling towards death fast.

i never understood why he was suicidal. he's got the best job in the world that eveyrone wants. howard loves him. he's rich as hell.. he's famous as hell.. he's funny.. he can get any girl to sleep with him cause he's artie... he is well liked..when he walks into any room, people go nuts, girls and guys.. and a million other reasons.

so why is he so depressed for?? it goes to show you how serious depression is.. it comes from inside the brain. it's a chemical. i know many many guys here who have the perfect wife, big house, 2 great kids, and tons and tons of money, and tell me each day how they pray their day comes fast and they die and how they want out..

poor artie.. He was the best part of the show. won't be the same without him not there..it's too bad we lost him on Stern. looks like he's never coming back now.. at least that's what i hear.

A lot of times these suicide attempts are just a cry for help.
But he must have been pretty serious about it - stabbing yourself nine times is no joke.
