Anyone see Gretchen Mol from the movie Rounders on the HBO movie about Bettie Page?

I remember seeing Bettie Page way back when when a person had to use their imagination when it came to porn instead of seeing the gal all splayed out leaving nothing to the imagination.I think I was about 10 years old back in 69 ''no pun intended''camping out in the back yard with all my friends when someone had a deck of cards featuring Bettie in tightie whities with black garter belts.At the time we were listening to the ball and chain AM only Panasonic transistor radio.

I just saw the Bettie Page movie on HBO last night and the actress Gretchen Mol who played Matt Daymon's girlfriend in Rounders played Bettie.She was quite the tight assed anal retentive prude killjoy in Rounders who believed whole heartedly in the female fun limitation factor not letting their guy enjoy themselves but she was dynamite in the Bettie Page movie.This gal has quite a bod and can act.

This Bettie Page went religious and quit posing in the 50's and is now in her 80's.She went into seclusion.She sort of reminded me of the southern gal on Seinfeld that George was going out with and who dumped her where Jerry started going out with her.You don't know how to categorize these types whether they are hot or not in a simple southern hillbilly tomboy way but I think Bettie Page was allot hotter than your Paris Hilton's of today.

Anyone here remember Bettie Page as a kid in stag movies or in the back of detective magazine ads while camping out in the back yard?

I saw the movie, The Notorious Bettie Page awhile back. I found it flawed but passable. They really glossed over some stuff that seemed like it deserved more attention in explaining who Bettie Page became (like the gang rape).

I didn't really buy the way the film presented her. She seemed too naive to me, like she didn't have a clue that there are people interested in sex out there - even after the rape and posing as she did for years. She was just so oblivious. I didn't know Bettie Page so maybe she really was like that but it seemed like it was exaggerated for effect to me.

But overall I'd give it a mild thumbs up. It was an interesting study in how times have changed. And I have to say, that scene where she first gets naked in the woods and they have that full frontal shot, I thought Gretchen Mol looked spectacular. She can ask me out any time.

Nudity aside, she gave a very good performance.

Page really isn't "in seclusion." She in her 70s (not 80s) and lives in the Los Angeles area. She sometimes is a guest of Hefner at the Playboy mansion. (Along with Monroe she posed for an early, mid 50s Playboy. Hefner reportedly has helped her out financially.)

Page has a very dedicated fan base. (I'm not in it as I'm not a "fan" of any pop icons, but I know about it.) They collect original photos of Page,from the 50s, and operate websites devoted to her.

Check "bettie page" out on ebay, you should see a lot of stuff being sold related to her, both on the regular categories and the Adults Only one.
