#10Very good bowl season for the Big Ten... most teams either won outright or covered, and 2 BCS Bowl wins. I don't think anybody, even the biggest big 10 supporters, thought the big 10 would do this well this year.Comment -

#11I agree. All the conferences top teams won it their way, POWER and DEFENSE. 2-0 in bcs bowls also. This conference heard everybodys shit for the last year and then came out and physically whipped their opponents collective asses. Hats off to the Big 10.
Penn St. beat up LSU
Iowa dominated G.T
Ohio ST out toughed pansy ass Oregon
Wisconsin slapped Miami
You Big 10 haters can all go back to trying to perfect that little game of flag football most of you love so much. Just to let ya know though, come on up to the heartland for a good ol backalley ass beating. Real football. Its back.Comment -

Good God damn.
I wasn't aware Penn St. whipped LSU's ass. I thought LSU led and PSU rallied to win in the 4th.
What conference is flag football bulls_hit?? I'm just curious what conference must bow down to the mighty big f_ucking ten? Give me a break!!!
The big 10 struggles to succeed in ANY sport. The conference is very lucky for any football bowl win this year!!!
Quite frankly nearly all the SEC football programs are better than any single Big 10 program.
I would be ashamed to be a OSU fan. Who did OSU beat besides Oregon? F_ucking Wisconsin? New Mexico State??? It's about time that highly over paid coach Tressel got a bowl win, in what-- four years??
As far as IOWA, what a soft ass schedule. It's not hard to win a weak bowl game against a team that can't f_ucking throw the football. GT should never have been in that was a charity bowl for both teams.
MINN lost to a mediocre team, but then again so are they.
NWSTERN got beat, and thanks to two big fumbles it took OT but they still ended up sucking.
Who's left, MICH ST?? Please.Comment -

You're lucky they LOST any bowl this year.
Here's their 3 losses :
Northwestern missed a 40 yd fg at the buzzer to win in regulation.
Mich St. had FOURTEEN players suspended and still led Tx Tech in SAN ANTONIO=home game til the 4th Q before finally falling.
Minnesota lost by 1 point after fumbling on the 20 with about 3 minutes to go.
And before you go back to try and find a game the Big 10 "stole" this bowl season, dont waste your time. Penn sT. led LSU for like 50 minutes of that game before they gave up the lead late then took it back.Comment -

Nearly all SEC football programs are better than Big 10 programs... this is laughable joke. Statements like that make the SEC football programs look weak. SEC didn't exactly set the world on fire here.
Think about it the SEC plays all there bowl games as virtually a home game. The stadiums are all driving distance 80% of the time.
I'm not sure whats worse...but don't worry...Bama a SEC team plays Big 10 football...so its okay though. Big physical and runs the ball and plays Defense... But its okay because there in the SECComment -

#27So the Big 10 goes 4-3 and everyone in here is all gaga about it? They certainly showed improvment, but they still have a long ways to go. I congratulate them on their improvment. I just wish that Northwestern could finally win a bowl game. It seems that they lose in ways only imaginable in bad dreams.Comment -

#28That is why we should look at bowls game-by-game, not blurt out picks and in mid December.
Books overvalued SEC and Pac 10 and undervalued Big 10 because of previous yr(s).
Sagarin was WAY OFF with SOS.
AND do not over react to the SEC's woes ATS, though... the SEC got bad breaks in 2 games with South Carolina playing in bitter cold vs northern team U Conn and same with Arkansas, their forte, the deep passing game, vs ECU was ineffective in the frigid weather.Comment -

More than "improvement" IMO.
The KEY is that the Big 10 top 4 teams, OSU, PSU, Wisky, and Iowa, all won SU against top competition, some conference champs, and were DOGS. I think Wisky benefited a bit from cold weather vs Miami, though it was not frigid. Just enuf to mess with Miami players.
Teams # 5-6-7 Minny, NW, and MSU stayed very close and almost won outright. NW covered. Minny and MSU almost did, went to last few minutes, could have gone either way.
HUGE difference from last yr. Defense was the key.Comment -
