I'd never even heard of them. They sucked, but what else is new? Halftime shows just about always suck. That's why they shouldn't pay these performers. It's not worth it.

The bands come with the package. Use them.

It seems that if a band is actually any good, you won't be seeing them doing halftime shows.

I find it comforting that musical acts that achieve early success and are fortunate enough to remain together for an extended period of time can cash in on that early success with such performances as halftime shows. Kool and the Gang rocked back in the day, and while they lack the sound of a polished ensemble anymore, they hit a home run for nostalgia.
