Boys, I guarantee you that tonights game between Portland and Memphis will go under the 199 and Portland - 1 1/2. In fact, it wont even see 190, probably not 188. I dont have any inside information on this game, but this UNDER and BLAZERS parlay is as good as if Tim Donoghy was the referee and he bet it under and Blazers.
The Blazers simply arent going to let Memphis get more than 92 tops tonight and they wont score more than 100 tops themselves. Look at the Blazers last 11 games. They have played much much better offenses than the Grizzlies and they have given up 88,102,92, 85,81,94,96, 104,89,99, and 105 last night.
That means in their last 11 games, the Blazers have given up about 94 points per game. That is a run where they have played Sacraemento, Phoenix, Orlando, Dallas, Sanantonio, Golden State, and the Clippers. They have held the highest scoring teams in the NBA to an average of 94 points in the last 11 games.
The Blazers only give up 93.2 points a game this year, they have one of the best defenses in the NBA. Portand has faced and held down offenses that are way better than the Memphis team. The Grizzlies simply are not going to score many points at all tonight.
Now I know everyone is going to say the Grizzlies are scoring an average of 104 points a game this year. The fact is that they average considerably less points on the road, and they have raised their average by running up the score on crap teams. When the Grizzlies have faced good defenses this year, they have not been able to solve those defenses. The Grizzlies have been held down many times this year and will be tonight.
In fact, this Grizzlies team has been held in the 70's 4 times this year including once by these Trailblazers, they have also been held in the 80's and low 90's several times. To me, scoring 115+ against Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix, and Golden State doesnt really count that much. Sure, it raises your average points scored, but its not the same thing as playing against a kick arse defense like the Blazers bring.
The Grizzlies have padded their points scored average against weak defenses and teams that run up and down the court all game. The same simply can't be said for Portland. They have managed a 93 point per game against average by playing the high scoring teams out west. This game against the Grizzlies will be one of the easier games that the Blazer defense has had lately.
I think its a well kept secret just how good this Blazers defense is tonight. The Blazers will not have a hard time shutting down Gasol, Randolph or Mayo. Martel Webster has quietly become a beast in the middle for the Blazers. Martel Webster and Brandon Roy will shut this Grizzlies team down and if the Grizzlies cant hit a lot of shots from the 3 point area tonight ( which they wont ) I think this game will go Blazers and under easily tonight. This is a parlay that will hit and 2 individual winners as well.
