I think the people that enjoy video games, will like this movie. The plot isn't amazing, but there are 3 or 4 stages in the movie that allow it not drag out during the 3 hours. If you are going to see it, you have to see it 3d; the images are amazing during certain parts of the movie. Nothing close to a "guys" movie or a chick flick.

As far as the story goes, it is nothing that original or special. It is kind of cliche, actually. BUT.... the visuals are amazing and make up for the other flaws of the movie. The way they did the animation (which is not animation, it's actual actors with things attached to their bodies to make them into their digital characters) is amazing, and when you combine the 3-D, it really looks incredible.

So just leave your brain at the door and go enjoy looking at this movie... it transports you to another world... the detail of the animals, the plantlife, and the people in this world is fantastic.

My cost was $13.

i'll buy 2 tickets (btw 7$ is different if you think that the minimum wage in romania is 200$)

Not exactly something I want to do. I want things that are stimulating and thought provoking. I do enough of leaving it at the door, everyday when I log into this forum.

Sure it has themes like any movie. But it doesn't mean you have to convert religious or religious parties to appreciate a film.

I am not really into Sci-fi or action films. Most action films bore the shit out of me. But I though Avatar was very good. They create an alternative universe, but it was an interesting alternative world, and they explained it well in how it related to the human race. 3D is the way to go for sure. Visuals where amazing. After a while you get used to it, but is still cool.

3d is pretty damn cool. the movies good its just so long and i saw it when i was pretty damn tired so dont take my perspective. It was worth seeing though i just feel like a little bit of the movie dragggggged and dragggged in the middle for like a hour 20 minutes. And I love movies over 2 hours although not much of a fan of these types of movies i thought it was cool ann pretty interesting.

The story is pointless. You should see it to appreciate how lifelike computer graphics can be. The environments they render really are luscious and lifelike. The 3D doesnt really pop out at you too much either but enough to make it worth it.

last autumn, in bucharest, the greatest and biggest mall was released...it has an IMAX, also, with a screen of 24 m height...but its sold out till march, for christ sake...

I see a lot of movies and this one in 3D IMAX is the most incredible display of graphics I've ever seen in my life. The movie would have been awesome without the 3D and without the IMAX but that just put it over the top. A top 5 movie of all time without a doubt. Its going to break all the sales records because people go back to see it. I'm going back again within the week and I saw it on Sunday.

However it is full of anti military propaganda, without a doubt more people will emerge from seeing this movie hating the US military (simple minded people who can't see the forest for the trees).
