If you found some magical "Pattern" that prooved over years of backtesting that it would make you great results in betting, would you keep it to yourself or share it with the betting community?Knowing that if the books found out they not let anyone bet it.

It depends. If impressing and imagining you are loved by internet strangers is more valuable than money to you (this is what is known as a fishhead) you tell anyone and everyone who will listen.

Although the "pattern" itself becomes worthless, for years you can keep retelling the story of how you once knew something that doesn't work any more.

But if you have any intelligence at all, you guard the information.

                      You selfish bastard!

I mean, I appreciate the shoutouts and all, but now I find out that you might be keeping money-making secrets from me...

I don't know what to think.

Well yes, it is a money-making secret which I am withholding from you, but according to the conditions of post #1, as soon as I tell you about it, it becomes worthless to both of us.

The only possible value in spilling the beans would be impressing a bunch of wieners from the internet with my past cleverness.

A better theoretical situation to test people's neediness would be, what do you do if the "pattern" loses only half its value?

For me the correct answer is, tell as many people as possible without MrX finding out.

Wow. And to think I was going to share my John Morrison subscription with you.

                          Your loss.
