First of all, STOP gambling. You are down 14K and have to hide that fact. No one hits that "rough" of a spot if they had winning cycles at all. Loansharking has nothing to do with your losing wagers. You lose, you pay up. If not, you get your face and other parts of your anatomy re-arranged. As far as your reputation is cincerned, it is shot. You did that by posting what you just posted. If I were you, I would borrow the money, pay it back as soon as possible, and stay the hell out of the gaming business. It appears that you have never won, because if you had, you would have: A. Told your wife about the winnings, and she would understand it when you hit a bad run, or B. Had an account where you banked all of your winnings, that you could go to to pay off your debt. Since you did neither, you have not won any money. It is time for you to get out of the gaming business. Pay the man off, so you do not have to explain a re-arranged face to your wife. Pay back the people who you borrow the money from as quickly as possible. Stay away from gaming, because you cannot afford to lose any more.

Stiff the bookie. It happens all the time. If he let you go down 14k without the cash. He's not too bright.

Work out a payment plan or work the debt off with the bookmaker. I use to do that and wash his cars, paint, clean fukkin windows etc.

I would not use a loanshark unless you have a nice cash flow coming in weekly where you can pay him back quick without much interest.

Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose.
Stop gambling now and see if you can get a legitimate loan to pay-off your bookie. If that means your wife finding out, so be it, you will probably feel better about yourself once she does know (after the initial shit storm, of course).

You need to stop. If you don“t, the hole you are in is only likely to get bigger.

Sorry to see this, Dom. Cash flow is most important though so you have to do what you have to do.

I've been maxed out before - not fun. Like Suze Orman says though - "Pay yourself first!" Don't worry about the interest piling up - you can't run out of cash.
