Back in the mid to late 70's there was a stacked team of all star jocks in my area and everyone on the team swung for the fence and it wasn't if they were going to hit a home run,it was how far it would go.Schwartzenegger went to college at UWS Superior,Wisconsin near here and all these guys were devoted fans that would see him put on demos every chance they got.Then there was a nationally known weight lifter named Mike ** Donald who won allot of events nationally and he had a couple roid shops in the area and got busted.
Back then if I remember right,roids were just sort of blended in with vitamins and supplements and everyone was sort of naive about them like they were just a health product.All the Russian weight lifters like Allexioff?just sort of vanished back then and I'm assuming the Russian government didn't want to have them seen as 40 year old shriveled up prunes in wheel chairs.
But I remember all the kids who were younger than this team of 20 something super jocks being told by their parents s that with hard work and practice that they too could hit 400 foot homeruns with a slow pitch softball.hehe!Hell,this team had groupies.
Does anyone else here remember stuff like this going on in the 70's where they thought at the time it was legitimate but looking back now they think it was bogus and artificial?
