I will be heading out for breakfast soon. Got to like a Greek diner place that still opens at 5:30am on New Years Day.

First meal will be lunch. Gotta find a place open, not much food in the home.

Probably 3 eggs over easy with bacon and home fries. Side of french toast, side of corned beef hash with an egg over top. Several cups of coffee and an angioplasty.

Had a bagel for DD. I make pork every New Years day. It's a family tradition. My Grandmother always said, "Eating pork and Kraut on New Years brings luck for the year". Hope it brings some luck to my plays today. Got me a peppercorn pork tenderloin I'm gonna grill in a few hours.

That sounds good. You just throw everything in there raw? What kind of broth do you use. I'm gonna try this.

I use store bought smoked brown sugar ham, about 1 lb of ham, cut in quarter size chunks and two pounds dry blacked eyed peas. Water with salt, pepper, garlic powder is the broth. Soak the peas over night, then cook it all for about 4-5 hours in a crock pot or on the stove. Its actually better the 2nd day it thickens up more.
