It's Heat... Godfather kicked them all off and had a good plot, Scarface is the classic drug dealer flic, but Heat was straight gangster.

These are all good choices, but the best gangster movie is "Gotti" It was an HBO movie, so it didnt get as much exposure as a studio film. But anything HBO does is top-notch. (Entourage, Sopranos, Oz, etc, etc, etc)

Taking advantage of the time off of work. I suppose I could have traveled somewhere, or spent quality time with my girl. But in the end I decided to do what's best for everyone involved. It's very healthy.

This poll sucks. The top 5 should be replaced with really good movies like Leonard Part 6 and Super Mario Bros.

These 3 are great choices

Godfather 1 & 2 - The original mob films, they almost started their own genre with these films alone

Scarface - Not just a great film, it has cult status, inspired so many other films and media genres, music, fashion, art...

But Heat? good film but in the top5? really? its not that groundbreaking or original to be top 5 material.

And Goodfellas just feels like a poor mans Godfather, I found the ending a dissapointment, it was so tame and like they were trying shove PC cliche's down our throat that 'crime don't pay'...

The Usual Suspects has to be in the top 5! you can't leave it out.

Other films that could have made it, Dog Day Afternoon, Pulp Fiction and Leon.

The Godfather I.

I think it's possibly the greatest movie ever made, regardless of genre. I've never actually seen Heat and yet (with apologies to my beloved Bread and other fans of the movie) I feel safe in saying there's no fukkin way it belongs in a poll with the freakin Godfather.

one of my favorites I watch every year and own the DVD's....also include Casino, Blow, and Donnie Brasco...all true stories also, and two of the best damn Depp movies I ever seen (Blow,Brasco)
