Think this through people, Leach is going to be fine. He's a well spoken, to the point no nonsense guy. Just the type of guy that an Athletic Director serious about building a winning football program should want to hire.

This whole thing is an absolute disaster for Adam James. He's "untouchable" but in the total opposite sense that an ego maniac would want.

Kid obviously thinks that his Father's accomplishments and position entitle him to something. This whole deal will just prove again the truth that lies in:

The bottom line is that like it or not, you can no longer get away with the caca that Leach tried to pull. All he had to do was to sign a mickey mouse apology letter and none of this would have happened. If he were my HC and pulled a stunt like this, I would make sure that he didn't sit down for a week, and didn't get a decent coaching job for a year or more. I would kick his worthless tail all over Texas. No school is going to hire a coach who threatened to sue his former boss.

This is all about kids not being able to deal with discipline nowadays, then when it happens they yell foul. It happened to Bobby Knight at Indiana. These kids all need to go into the Armed Forces go to boot camp, learn some discipline, learn that life is not always easy, learn that you dont always get your own way, then go into life.

Two things cross my mind. First, let me say that I totally agree with your first statement. Kids today are wusses compared to kids 30 years ago. There is no doubt about that. When I was a kid, if you had a problem, you duked it out, shook at at the end of the fight, and made a new friend. Today, you either shoot your opppnent or sue him. Kids are so soft today, it is pathetic. They think someone owes them a life.

As far as JAmes is concerned, I wonder how many players got to him and told him to tell daddy and have the power of ESPN get behind the players. There was a lot of dessention on that team.

As far as Leach is concerned, he will not be back for a while. He is a good coach, but certainly not a great one. College administrations are not going to risk having such a loose cannon coaching their kids just to get one or two more wins. How many Big 12 titles did Leach win? None. How many BCS bowl games did he win? None. What was his bowl record? 5-4. Big deal.

no he wont, not at a big name school. auburn chose gene chizik over him, thats all you need to know. leach is too much of a liability for a big name school to take a chance on him.

Coordinator in the NFL would be a great move for him. Being an assistant in the NFL gets you closer to NFL head coaching which is where the most money is. There are only MAYBE 5 jobs in college that pay like NFL teams play their head coaches. I would take a Coordinator job for an NFL team in a heartbeat over even most top jobs in college....

Leach will never be a HC in the NFL. He does not have the talent. He is a devensive nightmare. As far as an NFL OC, he can stand in line behind Charlie Weis. How about a QB coach? He certainly is qualified for that position.

When all the dust clears, Leach will probably be a head coach in 2011. I would guess it would be at a second tier school in a conference like Conference USA where offense is king. You can turn a program around quick there. Look at East Carolina (Skip Holtz) and SMU (June Jones).
