Official hockey cheer of Team Canada ???

Apparently Pepsi has decided on an official cheer for Team Canada at the Vancouver Olympics. It is:


EH O' CANADA GO



Pepsi decided this. It came out of a contest.

It kind of makes me want to puke. Not so much the cheer itself. I mean sure, it is weak and stupid and it makes no sense to start the sequence with EH. In proper Canadian, "eh" comes at the end of sequences, eh.

But most cheers are basically pretty dopey so there's not much point analyzing.

It is just the idea that a corporation thinks they can train Canadian hockey fans like seals. I don't know what is going to happen. It's Pepsi - maybe they have paid to have the cheer piped into the stadia where Team Canada is playing so fans will either have to join in or basically not be cheering for Canada.

I don't know.

All I know is cheers should be organic and arise from passion. Not be sponsored by Pepsi.

I use "eh" in a mocking fashion.

Sad to see it become official.

It should be phrased O'Canada eh...Go!

I dunno. It's Canadian hockey being played at the Olympics on Canadian soil. It is bigger than religion. It doesn't need gimmicks.

People should just do whatever is in their hearts.



Here's my message to Pepsi trying to train Canadian hockey fans:
