How do you get on game shows?

Jeopardy now has on-line tryouts. You do a 50 question test and you need 35 right to qualify. I don't know how many thousands of people they end up with to choose from.

I liked how they did it before with in-person tryouts. The numbers were much smaller. I qualified twice before in that system. Once in Cali and once at a special contestant search in Toronto. If you qualify, you are eligible for a year but there are no guarantees. I am eligible right now (from the last on-line testing) and hoping for a phone call but the odds must be huge against it.

I get the feeling they won't do that any more with the in-person searches. Just the on-line thing once a year or so.

I'm not sure what other game shows do.

It's +EV for sure going on a game show. How much work can "Deal Or No Deal" be for someone to win money? You can win a lot more than Jeopardy and have no brain at all.

I imagine with shows like Deal or No Deal or Wheel of Fortune, they would have to have in-person tryouts because they want to make sure they are getting bubbly people who will behave like shrieking loonies.

Jeopardy doesn't care about that as much.

A family member went on deal or no deal , she won over 130,000 dollars said the host of the show HOWIE MANDELL is a real ass hole, I suggested maybe he was having a bad day when filming she was there 8 hours of taping for 30 minutes of tape programming she went to a public tryout , she claims she acted real quirky and ful l of fun and they picked her out of the line.

All those game shows you have to pay the taxes on your winnings whether its cash or cars or trips. 40 years ago the rumors were always that the people couldn't pay the taxes on the prizes so they could not keep the winnings lol

Yea its sick shit you win a car, have to pay taxes on the car, end of the year you cant afford to pay the taxes for the extra income, so you sell the car for a loss. You end up keeping 25%
