This question has always bothered me. We all know no one has ever spoken to shanty before. He comes here typing his gibberish and we all try to talk to him back in perfect English. The traffic plan for New Year’s Eve, as received from the office of Traffic Deputy Inspector General of Police, Khurram Gulzar, is as follows:

1. There will be one-way traffic flow from Ali Baba/ China Chowrangi up to Akhtar Colony Light Signal via Khayaban-e-Ittehad.

2. There will be two-way traffic from Hoshing Chowk up to Ali Baba/China Chowrangi via Clifton Bridge, 3 Sword, 2 Sword Mazar A.S. Ghazi, 26th Street onwards towards Sea View.

3. No vehicular traffic will be allowed to move towards Bilawal Chowrangi from Boat Basin and from Helipad (Park Tower).

4. Heavy vehicular traffic from Karachi Port Trust and Mauripur Truck Stand will not be allowed to proceed ahead from Jinnah Bridge, and will be diverted towards Northern Bypass and Estate Avenue.

5. All heavy traffic coming from Korangi Industrial Area side will be diverted from Godown Chowrangi towards National Highway to proceed to Northern Bypass or to their destinations.

6. The drivers who want to proceed to Sea View will not be allowed to enter Akhtar Colony light signal towards Khayaban-e-Ittehad, and will be diverted to main Korangi Road towards Sharea Faisal, Club Chowk, 3 Sword, 2 Sword, Mazar A.S. Ghazi, 26th Street, to Sea View.

7. No vehicular traffic will not be allowed to turn left from 26th Street towards Saudi Embassy Light Signal.

No Parking Roads/Streets: Parking of vehicles will not be allowed on the following roads/streets:-

1. Main Sharea Faisal from Sindhi Muslim up to Sindh Club.

2. Club Road from Club Chowk up to PIDC Light Signal.

3. Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road from PIDC Light Signal, up to Ziauddin Light Signal.

4. Hoshing Road from Hoshing Chowk, up to Ziauddin Light Signal.

5. Abdullah Haroon Road from Club Chowk, up to Clifton Bridge.

6. Khayaban-e-Iqbal from Clifton Bridge, up to KPT Underpass.

7. Khayaban-e-Roomi from KPT Underpass, up to Boat Basin.

8. Khayaban-e-Sadddi from Boat Basin up to Ali Baba/China Chowrangi.

9. Sea View side, from Ali Baba/China Chowrangi up to Village Restaurant.

10. Khayaban-e-Ittehad from Village Restaurant up to Khayaban-e-Hafiz Light Signal.

All motorcycles driven without silencers will be detained, and motorcyclist will be arrested. All residents of Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Kemari Town, Lyari Town, and Site Town, are requested to use Estate Avenue, Mauripur Road, Jinnah Bridge, Mai Kolachi Bypass, Boat Basin Bilawal Chowrangi for Sea View. All residents of North Nazimabad Town, Gulberg Town, Liaquatabad Town, Gulshan Town, Gulberg Town, New Karachi Town, should use M.A Jinnah Road Garden Road, Zaibunnisa Street, Avari Light signal, A.H. Road, Clifton bridge, Khayaban-e-Iqbal, Khayaban-e-Roomi and Khayaban-e-Saddi to travel towards the seaside. All residents of Gadap Town, Bin Qasim Town, Landhi Town, Korangi Town, Shah Faisal Town, Jamshed Town, and Saddar Town should use main Sharea Faisal to travel towards the seaside.
