Firms like these will basically hire 10 guys and put them through hell and hope that one or two make it. Be prepared to be put through the ringer - good luck man, hope you beat the odds.

anthony, sounds like you will spend a lot of time "equity raising", which is basically cold calling people. I was a commodity broker for 3 months back in 96-97 and i got 2 people to bite, plus my folks, but getting paid on commission at that time was just not for me, i made nothing. Funny thing is, the people i got in, all made a few grand in a few weeks and got out. They were quite pleased. Corn options was the thing at that point. Used to know options like the back of my hand, now i am totally out of the loop.

If you get in with a good firm and have the connections you can do very well. My Brother is living the high life. He had/has all the right connections and knows a lot of successful people to begin with. Without that, I don't know how he would do.

Lots of screenings and a very lengthy test is included because you are dealing with peoples financials. Two of my best friends are Brokers as well and the hiring process is more than what you just described. I drive a Mercedes, you need only half of a decent brain to earn a good living and drive whatever you want.
Have to agree - this story does sound a little too good to be true. My guess is the position will be entirely commission-based, so not involving the broker salary you typically have as a base, before commissions and bonuses are figured in. Though this may well be the path to that...
