The Jets suck. They wont win beat Cincy. The bengals have the best defense in football period.

I think rex will have them all fired up..... tough tough Defense. cincy is a little weak on pass defense, which is where everyone's strength is that are going to the playoffs

Fair enough Chi but i think most NFL people will tell you that Cincy has the 2 best cb's in the league and stats show they have a great defense. The jets have had a pretty easy schedule and havent displayed much defense against the good teams. Look how cincy shut down the steelers and ravens 4 times and also they were very close to beating the red hot chargers which no team has done in ages. Lets see how it pans out.

The best defense I think right now is San Diego Chargers. They let Tenn. only score 17 on them and that is pretty good. San Diego right now is the most dangerous team in the playoffs. They could easily make it to the Super Bowl this year.

they've given up a few 100+ yard games lately to receivers for having the two best cb's.

NONE there is no such thing as defense this year concistantly anyway....
but Archie is right the Jets have the best if they beat the Bengals but I'm rooting against them for my BLACK&GOLD!!!

Okay we all can agree that the Jets are getting a free ticket to the playoffs from Colts&Bengals so SINCE that's a FACT! Jets have #1 Defense in NFL we all know
That Defense is the #1 key to sucess for post season so ask your self Does post season really begin last couple weeks in regular season?? I would say so.

Now this would be perfect for my theory on this: Jets go to Superbowl knocking
Colts out of race on the way and win SUPERBOWL!!!

It might be in Bengals best interst to lose to the Jets.

If they did they most likely would play the jets the following weekend.

Rookie QB on the road int he playoffs, I would think the Bengals would like their chances.

how often in nfl history have teams that play each other in week 17 (or the last week of the season in the shorter nfl seasons) play each other the following weekend in the playoffs?

I am not sure but I think it occurred in the last 5 years. I am just drawing a blank.
