If you took the year-to-date numbers for these teams, as well as the starting pitchers and the bullpens, the Cubs had a slight advantage in this game. I gave them a win probability of around 53%. At that percentage, the breakeven point is around +/-113, menaing that the Rockies were GREAT value at +133. Even if you get a little frisky and raise the Cubs win probability to 55%, the breakeven point is still only +/-122, so +133 still held value. The point is I expect to go 47-53 if I played this game 100 times. Sure tonight was one of the 53, but if I keep getting +133 on plays like this, I know I will profit in the long run.
