In the old days ''5 or 6 years ago''when 3 or 4 new sportsbooks were coming online a week and giving bonuses and promotions to entice new customers you had to be a bit of a con man to assure yourself getting paid.Allot of these books would cold call you or send you a flier in the mail saying they would give you a no deposit bonus and stuff like that. They must have bit off more than they could chew and didn't have fraud control where people from the eastern block were ripping them off setting up multi accounts etc.that one always cracked me up where online gambling companies would say that people from Russia and eastern block countries and for some reason Denmark weren't eligible to receive the promos. That must have stroked your ego knowing that the country you lived in was looked upon as a nation of cheating scumbag mafia racket gypsies that were undesirable.hehe!Little did the sportsbooks know that people here in the U.S.were ripping them off the same way with multi IP addresses and multi mail boxes and signing up their family members and relatives etc.
So when I would win a free bet where I could tell things weren't going well for some of these underfunded turn key sportsbooks that were bleeding from giving too many bonuses too quick I wrote them glowing e-mails saying how I liked them and how I owned a bar where I could get referals by the dozen. It worked everytime where I at least got paid and it was a good thing that I shucked and jived them because many were out of business a month later and I would have been stiffed.
If I did own a spoerts bar it truly would be a sports bar with catering to the gambler to the fullest extent of the law.I would have many web t.v.systems where patrons could place bets from the terminals where there is no file record to be searched on those things.I would get all the satellite feeds of games and horse racing and get affiliated with the legal betting in the states where people could make legal wagers on their own accounts from the bar. Then I would have gathered referals and collected the bonus gifts and money from the sportsbooks and had raffle drawings not keeping any of the stuff for myself.
I'm not a big sports bar guy but are there any sports bars that know gambling is the reason people go there where they accomodate them with web access and such and look the other way? It's not breaking any laws to be sportsbook user friendly?
This would have made a good topic on an episode of Seinfeld where George could have conned sportsbooks by running an imaginary bar clanking glasses and having music and tapes of people talking in the background telling the sportsbook customer service he can't hear him well because the crew getting off the day shift at Vandalay Industries just arrived. Then Kramer would have blew the cover by answering the phone when George was in the can saying what???This isn't George's Good Time bar!
