Kentucky is dead last among SEC teams in passing offense, averaging only 142 yards a game in the air.
While Kentucky’s scoring defense was somewhat decent, giving up just under 23 points a game, the Wildcats were second to last in rushing yards allowed a game, surrendering 183 per outing.
With the electrifying C.J. Spiller, Clemson loves to run the ball, ranking third in the ACC in rushing yards, averaging just a shade under 170 per contest. Clemson’s defense was fairly stout most of the season; ranking fourth in the ACC in scoring D, allowing 21 points a game.
Finally, in their last 13 Bowl Games, Clemson covered the ‘under’ 11 times. Assessing some of the statistics just mentioned, one has to be a bit shocked that 88 percent of the action on the total is banking on the ‘over’ (52).
