Been holding off on getting a new TV for awhile now but now that I am moving I'd like to get something for my new place. Looking for something 47-52 in with 1080p. Any recommendations on brands, places to buy, specific models, etc?

#5I have recently bought a Panasonic Viera Plasma. Plasma TV's are ideal for sport viewing whereas LCD's are better for movie viewing. I don't like the bright colors on LCD. I get a clear, crisp but not bright picture with my Plasma. And there is no need to buy 1080 if you don't watch movies because stations broadcast at 720.Comment -

#6Check out CNet for the latest reviews on T.V.'s. They have some good insights. Samsung is among the best overall but Panasonic rates highest in overall value when price is considered.Comment -

Nowadays the technology is so good, you cant go wrong with plasma or LCD. Its all about brand, and everyone I've talked to including myself has said the samsung is the best they have had. These are of course the people who have owned multiple brands.Comment -

What he said.
And LCD's are only good in very well lit rooms. If you like to keep your living room relatively low lit, plasmas are better.
Not to mention that a plasma will cost about 1K lessComment -

#18Originally posted by Ravy PacerEveryone wants to harp on the 1080 technology. Unless you have a trained eye, you can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080. Waste of money. Buy a 720 model at a discount and you will be more than satisfied.Comment -
