Absolutely not. Mark Richt is now the elder statesman in the SEC, Georgia has been knocking on the #1 SEC recruiting door now for 20 years after they moved to 2nd in the 90's from #1 in the 80's. The state of Georgia has far more talent in the state than Tennessee does, Georgia simply needs to lock in the in state talent to be the #1 school in the nation talent wise. Now they will get the Florida recruits as well as all half the GA ones (the other half of recruits from the state of Georgia always goes to Tech or Auburn). Now that Florida is out of the way Georgia will steam roll.
It will be Georgia and Alabama in the SEC championship now for many many years to come with Georgia a slight edge because of talent.

You obviously dont know much regarding this. UT is recruiting nationwide and concentrating much of it in Atlanta. Kiffen is already plucking that state's talent as did Fulmer. Check UT's roster. Richt is the most overrated coach in the SEC and has NEVER put a fence up around that state.

This is Georgia's roster right after the season started. It is a typical Georgia roster, the vast majority of the players and nearly all the great players are from the state of Georgia. Georgia is also top 10 in the nation EVERY YEAR when it comes to recruiting.

Of course I don't have the EXACT stats on this (who does) but I know from checking this year to year that Georgia every year is near the top in the nation when it comes to percentage of players on roster who are in state players. Tennessee is not even close in this category. I am a 15 year Georgia season ticket holder and I know this team up and down. Now who doesn't know what?

Some of UT's best players have come from Georgia. Jamal Lewis is another, the list goes on. Nobody since Vince Dooley has put up a fence in that state.

Ummm, before Meyer came, Mark Richt won 2 SEC championships and finished 2nd in the nation in the final BCS poll, and should have played in 2 national championships but got screwed by voters. 1 of those years UGA was head and shoulders the best team in the nation and would have routed Ohio St or Miami (2002). He also won 2 BCS bowl games.

How's that for doing something, 2 SEC championships in a span of 3 years (2002, 2005) Also 2 BCS Sugar Bowl wins.

UT has always "recruited nationwide" because their high school football sucks. UGA is getting more and more prospects from Florida, the Carolinas and Jersey which opens up for more Ga recruits to go to other teams.
This is nothing different from what they've been doing for a long, long time.

in the 9 years Richt has been there Florida has won the East 3 times, UT 3 times, Georgia 3 times. Let's add to the fact that he had what should have been a National Championship team last year and managed to end up in the Citrus Bowl. What I'm saying is it is ridiculous to say he'll dominate the East now. LOL, you don't even know who the new Florida coach will be. What if they hired Mullen or Shanahan. You have no way of knowing and to say different is crazy. He needs to worry about beating Kiffin as well.

IMO Urban leaving has little effect on UGAs future in the SEC east.
Tebow, Strong and the rest of the players leaving has a far greater impact.

Florida coach Urban Meyer, who announced Saturday night that he would step down after coaching the Gators against Cincinnati in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day, is now having second thoughts about retirement, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com on Sunday.
Under a plan being discussed, Florida offensive coordinator Steve Adazzio would coach the Gators in the Sugar Bowl. Meyer, who cited health concerns as the reason for his retirement, would take a leave of absence and return to the team before the 2010 season.
However, a source close to the program told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Meyer would take a leave of absence for the entirety of the 2010 season. Adazzio would take over as interim coach for the season.
Meyer, who led the Gators to BCS national championships in 2006 and 2008, is scheduled to address media members in New Orleans at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
