#17USC quit late in the year and they went 1-6 ATS the last seven games vs. a crappy Pac-10 (should have been 0-7, UCLA game was 14-7 with 1:30 left, then 2 TDs). ACC dogs have done GREAT in bowl games.Comment -

#23I didn't understand the support for BC.
Shinskie was the worst rated passer among all BCS conference schools.
Yet the money came in on BC.
I just didn't understand that one.Comment -

#25Defense showed up for USC
Usc's defense has really struggled this year but came thru tonight vs BC. Barkley looked good tonight also. Course beating any team from the ACC this year isn't much to brag about.Comment -

#27USC decided to play in the 2nd half. The game was really not nearly as close as the final score indicated. No matter how bad USC does in conference, they just do not lot lose out of conference. This runs their non-conference record to 30-2 S/U since 2002, 20-12 ATS. That is hitting at 62.5% ATS out of conference. It is very tough to fade that kind of record. Next years non-con games are the vacation game at Hawaii, at Minnesota, and at home against Virginia and Notre Dame, plus whomever their bowl opponent will be. USC plays 13 games next season, 7 of them on the road.Comment -

#28Yeah but USC still only outscored them 10 -0 in second half, and BC was always within one score of covering. Not exactly the "dominance" many predicted.

#30I also had no play, being a USC grad. Rule #1 in gaming. Bet with your head, not your heart. To be honest, I would have taken B.C. because I did not think Carroll could get the troops up for the game, but aparently he did. Oh well, onward we go. Let's see if we can get Kentucky home today.Comment -

#32From a USC alum's point of view, the game proved one thing. Pete Carroll was able to fire this team up enough to win, and cover. It certainly was not their best effort, not by far, but there were plenty of positives to build on. I thought the defense played very well in the 2nd half, especially when you factor in the players who were missing. Barkley still has a long ways to go, but for a Freshman, he had a very confidence building evening. Bradford and Havili had good games. The potential loss of McKnight will probably not be that big of a deal next season. On the negaive side, the O-line did not look real sharp. There is much work needed with that group. Barkley threw two picks. That will have to be improved on. Hopefully, that is just an experience thing. Reading defenses and the like.
All in all, I think it was a successful way to end the season. USC has a lot to look forward to next season. With the exceptions of USC, Oregon, and Washington, the Pac 10 really gets hit hard by graduation. I think next year, the play of the QB's, especially Barkley, Luck, Masoli, and Locker are going to go a long way in deciding who plays in Pasadena on 1/1/11. Looking ahead at the schedules, it is quite possible for two Pac 10 teams to earn BCS trips if they do not beat each other up too badly in conference play.Comment -
