Looks like SBR has changed the way they count people on the forum
I've noticed for a couple of days that, even though there is no noticeable decrease in activity, the numbers of people showing as viewing each forum are, like, a quarter of what they were.

I remember hearing that those numbers could be manipulated by setting them to measure visitors over different lengths of time. Right now, down at the bottom of the front page it is saying visitors for the last two hours. I guess it must have been like 10 hours when the Most users ever online record there was set.

I don't think I have a point here. I am a numbers guy and I wasn't aware I was even noticing those numbers but I guess I have been. So I'm basically just saying, "How about that!"

    I also noticed that.

Are the before or after numbers more realistic?

Both of them are equally as valid as long as they're interpreted properly.

I would guess views are the highest at the peak of football season. You been here 4ever mud, doesn't it get kinda quiet around here at the holidays and as football wraps up??

Man when I was a mod here we did things differently.

              Carry on.

It's hard to say. Like Christmas Day is slower but I wouldn't generalize about the rest of it. For a long time, the most users online record was from a day in March, well after the Super Bowl. So who knows? I guess someone does but not me.

If you check one of those hit tracking sites it shows a pretty predictable pattern of users... highest in the Sept/Oct range when football starts up, another good bump during March Madness, and very slow for the rest of the summer once NBA/NHL playoffs wrap up at the end of June.
