I thought it was a law that the XFactor winner (UK equivalent of American Idol) had to be the Christmas No.1
It would be nice to have a real tune this year instead of a cookie cutter karaoke track.

Like the Billboard Hot 100 in the US but based on sales only.

I don't get it, how can a song from 15 years ago or whatever be #1 this Christmas.
In any event, RATM were one of the greatest bands ever. Only had four proper CDs, but all four are chock full of absolutely brilliant, in-your-face riff-rock/hip-hop fusion. I actually think Battle of Los Angeles might be their best.

LOL... Such an amazing record. "Born of a Broken Man" might be my #1 RATM song.
Pretty much every RATM song makes me want to go throw molotov cocktails through the windows of some fascist dictator's Mansion in some oppressed country.... Usually I just go for a run though.
Just SO much energy and power.

Long story but the UK Charts include download sales. There has been a big campaign organised by a Facebook group, to encourage people to download that particular RATM song. The aim is to ensure that the X-Factor winner doesn´t get the Christmas No. 1 spot which is highly coveted.
Why they selected that particular song, I don´t know but I agree with your comments.
