i used to work in foodservice for years. management for most it, if that makes it sound any better.
anway about 5 years ago part of my job was to do the"menu line" everyday so employees of the facility could call and hear what slop was on for the day. i started doing little stupid monologue type things caused no one ever listened.
so, to make a long story longer, this one time i got written up and nearly fired for the following...
all i did was suggest that it made tons of sense for all seeing-eye dogs to be replaced with seeing-eye midgets. that is a serious idea and i think it deserves more attention than the knee-jerk reaction it got at my former employer.
anyone know the unemployment rate among midgets? it has to be higher than normal people, right? and blind people would always have company that could talk with them or tie and untied shoe lace.
i really don't see any losers in this scenario.
and you know blind people aren't cleaning up after their dogs shit all over a sidewalk. i have to imagine that the vast majority of midgets are potty trained or at the very least house broken.
can a dog really tell a blind guy if he is giving abdullah a $100 instead of a $10 for some over-priced convenience store product? hell no.
it is a win all around.
