what a cluster suck. What was it 1 point for every 15 posts or something? What was that guys name started with a V, he had 5,000 post a day until the policy changed. I bet there were some sleepless nights among the SBR brass in those crazy days.

Two things that can be improved with points system:
If someone posts a pick and the pick wins he needs to be awarded points; maybe number of posts in thread = XX points awarded.
If someone posts a pick and the pick loses he needs to be deducted points; maybe number of posts in thread = XX points deducted.
This will make people think twice before posting a pick , lock, etc..
It will also cut down the number of locks being posted who aren't actual locks.

i'll never forget that tuesday evening in aug when i stepped out for 2 hrs for a coffee.. and came back home and i swear, from where i left off 2 hrs ago, it was now on page 4.. by the time i caught up in those 1.5 hrs of reading, 3.5 new pages appeared.. it never ended. you could never keep up.. at the end i was only reading 3% of the threads. it was just too much. you had to be a speed reader AND have a lot of free time..Comment -

As it turns out, at the old rate of 15 points for 50 posts (~ 5 cents per post), it was a pretty decent effort/reward proposition for a nickel-and dimer like tpowell or dac. I would pat them on the back except that, as I say, they had no idea what points were going to mean and (b) the points only have that cash value if you use them wisely and not just blow them in the casino or whatever.

I think SBR should go back to the more posts you make the more points you get, guys like me and some others get fukked with points. I see guys that make 1 post per day and i make 100 posts and we get the same amount of points.Comment -

It would not be a bad idea to just give like 5 points for every 100 posts or something like that. I think every thousand posts is much harder to achieve. Another idea is going give a bonus on Christmas also. Since some are losing at the casino I think they can do it here. Just something for them to think about if they want to make a few changes here on points.Comment -
