    Math problem regarding Sammy's winning %
    If Sammy continues to use his local, where he pays 10% of his winnings to his middle-man.... and he gets 7% of his losses back from the middleman (good luck collecting on that if you lose big, remember this dude needed a loan to buy christmas presents)

    using -110 lines ( I won't even go into the stupidity of betting on lines that are shaded a half or full point from reputable offshore books and STILL not taking the better more advantageous line)

    we will use Sammy's NBA and Football(nfl/ncaa) season long picks to see how this would look long term.

    where are the Ncaab picks Sam?

    ok great year in Nba so far 78-56-3 so far

    not so great in football 108-117-2

    combined w/l record of 186-173..... not bad, but does it make money?

    186x50= 9,300 won - 10% (930) for middle man= 8370 winnings

    173x55=9515 lost + .07% (666) cash back from middle man = 8849 losses

    total net loss of $479

    now add into this that when you make a $1,100 wager and loss you basically LOST the EQUIVALENT OF 20 STRAIGHT GAMES.

    this is just hypothetical, assuming all bets were for for a flat to win 50 bucks.

    It looks as though Sammy has kept his head above water in football betting for example by chasing and betting 20-50 unit games which can work short term, but long term is a recipe for disaster.

    all told, if you include the bad lines like taking the Celtics -11.5 when it really is -10.5 or -11 I'd think Sammy would need to hit 57-59% to break even with this bookie

        Sammy could have made money on his 52% using Matchy I reckon

          sammy will never learn. he will keep making big bets on what he thinks are sure shots and when they mess him up like last night he still wont learn. sometimes sammy you need to heed advice.

                You people are morons if you think he cares about how much he wins or loses.

                The only number he cares about are the number of threads about him.

                    good point, I guess I didn't take into account that in his head Sammy most likely actually believes he can hit 58%+ long term

                        I think the best thing this forum can collectively do is go back to capping games and picking some winners. Although the feedback should be overwhelmingly positive to Sam, this needs to be put to bed......

                          I have better things to do than give these losers any of my picks. Let them tail him and his father figure and crash and burn.

                              Wow....Sammy really better take this thread to heart. There is a huge difference of hitting 57-59% than 52%.

                                Sammy let me run some numbers on your success with your bookie thus far. How much did you win week 1 and week 2? how much of that did you pay to your middlemen?

                                we'll see where you end up after tomorrow's games and do simple analysis of what units you should be betting.

                                that $1,100 lost on Arizona would come in handy about now. This is why if you want to not be a huge loser longterm.... you can't use this logic....

                                well i'm up 2,400 for the week anyway, I might as well get greedy make a 20 unit play because if I lose IDC, I'm still up over a dime.

                                problem is long term you just made yourself have to hit at a lot higher % the rest of the year to make up for that one loss IF you return to your usual bet size.

                                looks like you have not returned to 50-100 bets like you said you were. I think using a local might be a bad idea for you. better to stick with off-shore post up, to keep yourself out of trouble...

                                did you spend any of that money from the envelope on friday yet?
