Anyone here ever play the sports parlay card lottery in Canada?Passports needed?
I live in Minnesota not too far from Canada and when I used to have loose Canadian change left over from my trip to Canada I used to buy a parlay card through their lottery sold at convenience stores. The US border patrol practically strip searched me when I told them I had a Canadian sports lottery ticket in my possession.I was glad that I decided to smoke the crappy Cuban cigar I bought up there instead of bringing it home or they would have locked me in the slammer. They confiscated my bedding flowers I bought at Safeway saying that I lived 30 miles too far into the states than law requires. It didn't seem like they gave true odds on the parlay card if I remember right so it was a ripoff.I guess all the sports leagues were really PO'd about Canada having legal wagering on their sports.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could buy true odds parlay cards at lottery outlets here in the states.I'm sure the ripoff numbers lottery would suffer.I figure that the tax payer already gives the sports team owners free arenas and stadiums so they could at least recover the costs by taking the parlay card procedes and throwing it down some other rathole.

Now we have the sucky situation where you need a passport to pay a visit to Canada while illegal alliens are left alone to do what they want in this country. It used to be fun to visit Canada when the Canadian dollar was 67 cents USA funds on the exchange rate instead of being almost par these days.Lots of the greatest strip joints in the world are up there too.Just saw the ones in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay and didn't stop at the ones in Sarnia and Windsor. It must be tough on the strippers that have to deal with no paper one and two dollar bills where they just have metal loonies and twonies.Sluts, slots and tokens, not a good trifecta .hehe! The race tracks and casinos are a bit different up there compared to the states too where the Canadians will drive 200 miles to get to a casino in the states instead of playing in their home town casino.

So is there anyone else here that is disgusted that people with spotless records have to jump through hoops to make a trip to Canada these days?

Americans aren't required to have a passport to enter Canada, they need it to return to the US.

This is an American initiative. Canada isn't out to make things difficult for visitors to enter the country and is opposed to the US law that requires passports for Americans and Canadians travelling between the two countries.

I've been to the US hundreds of times from 1984 until 2005, when I made my last trip, haven't been back since and it is unlikely I'll ever return for a visit. There are so many other places I'd rather visit ( ie the Carribean, Europe & Australia). As you mentioned US Customs/Immigration officers are a real pain to deal with and the border is a nightmare since 9-11. Too bad about the sagging US Dollar but the Canadian Dollar was undervalued for too long. It shouldn't have ever been lower than 75% of the uS Dollar.

The Sports lotteries are a ripoff, without exception!

And, what strippers are interested in ones and two's? Maybe the "B" class girls in Thunder Bay or Winterpeg, the girls in the big cities are only interested in 20's as small bills.

The proline lottery is a rip off. Sometimes they will post a bad number for one game but you won't find 3 bad numbers to make a decent wager with. I haven't looked at it in 10 years or so.

And Bet the girls are interested in 1's provided it's got 2 zeros after it. At least in and around southern ontario.

The whole passport thing is the US government. On my last trip to the US (2 weeks ago) it was 20 minutes of questioning going down and 2 minutes how long did you stay and what are you bringing back to come home. I think our guys should probably be a little more thorough tho.
