I'm beginning to wonder...does it really payoff ,"in the long run", bucking these home teams, whether favorites or underdogs ?
I need some other experienced opinions on this one ?

Your question seems to be, "should I always bet on home teams no matter what?"
My answer is no, that would not be a good strategy. One must dig a little deeper than that.

It seems I end up going with the road team about 65% of the time in all sports. Since I've noticed that It's been pissing me off, but I can't change it though I try..

Sam,I have some doubts on that one !
I think the "unknown" factor not mathematically figured in on sports lines is, "how motivated" a home team will be on each individual home game ?
I would say the Florida ,Alabama game would be an example .
BAMA was sky high and could not have played any better ,right ?
