    Important money management rules:
I believe money management is one of the if not the most important rule in sports betting. Why? We all need discipline and if you set rules for yourself it's easier to keep this discipline in tact.
I am going to contribute one of my rules that really helps me out here it is:
Always cash out 90% of your bankroll monthly. Why? because most books have a
one free a month payout policy use it! say you are up $3,000 for the month and you say to yourself I got the power of $ on my side now I'm going to triple that this month.Wrong! you need to take your winnings out and start from scratch that way it helps you stay grounded and stick to your set of rules.
See:who has the best set of rules they follow for sports betting? POST AND VOTE NOW.IN THE PLAYERS TALK FORUM
Back to subject: Say you keep your $3,000 in your account and you are confident on your nights plays and you lose. Everybody that gambles should know that even one loss can send you on a downward spiral in a whirlwind.
One loss and you lose confidence second guess yourself and worse of all YOU can go on TILT!
MORAL OF THE STORY IS:Always bet like your down to your last dollar whether your up or down.

I would like to hear about other SBRmermbers MONEY MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES
Please keep all comments related to the SUBJECT
I know that there will be childish remarks in this thread from past experiences
JUST IGNORE THEM! half the posters in this forum I honestly believe they are under the age of 16

    Good luck

I will start with some just off the top of my head ones...

Never bet on a increasing unit scale during a losing streak... You should be able to level out with a few wins.

If you must bet every single game bet very small till you learn to control yourself and pick spots.

Never bet what you cannot afford to lose.

Learn how to control your money by watching other posters lose here and disappear.

All in means you have been losing most likely and might be all out!

Bet only an amount you are comfortable with, when you have your spots picked bet a little more. Build bankroll slowly no rush, if there is a rush go get another job.

Never leave yourself at the end of the day thinking ....why did I bet so many games and lose so much money...self control...

Self control plays a gigantic part in money management, after a loss just do not bet to try to make up a loss... Wait for a better play usually only a day or two away.

Realize with money it is easier to lose than win without following some type of money management system.

It is really simple! Yet very very hard to do.

1-3% of BR per bet , never have more than 7-10% going at one time

Serious Pauly we can learn alot by the actions of others....this is a revolving door of losers in here.

          The get rich quick crew...

The teenager in college that has never had a job type...betting without knowing the value of money..

The ones that appear daily and ask for a sure thing because it is a sure think there bankroll is at zero...

The ones that think they could go tout, but when they bet real money could not pick a winner if you gave them five chances...

The ones that come on with a lock and disappear for a month...

Take a look at some of the patterns with people and their free points...as soon as they get them...they have to pi$$ them away... a sign of what they do with real money maybe..

I could go on and on...seriously watch others lose...also a good lesson...

Money management is the first thing you should learn. Even before capping.

You can be the best capper in the world and go broke in a week with poor money management.

You can be the worst capper in the world and last an entire season with great money management.

Great thread. I have to continue to remind myself about money management. It's easy to see a good thing and want to bet more than what you should. You have to have restraint even when it looks like a lock.

Money management is the most crucial factor in long-term sports betting, always live to fight another day.
