this team will still make the playoffs, are they as good as the SB teams, hell no. Lots of youth on this team. I think they are trying to rebuild that defense this year, without taking to much of a step back.
They haven't been the same team since the 2007 AFC championship game loss.

Hard to say. It has never been a traditional dynasty that just wins a bunch of years in a row with the exact same players. Obviously a few key players like Brady have been fixtures but there has been a lot of turnover at key positions.
Now, although they have remained right in the mix, it has been a few years since a big win. If they won it all again, say, next year would it still be considered the same dynasty?
It's all a question of semantics and opinion. I'll say yes. As long as you've got Brady/Belichik/Kevin Faulk/etc., it can still be considered the same dynasty.
And I have a hunch they are not quite dead yet and will keep themselves right in the mix for some more years.

That 2007 team was spent by the time of the SB. The attention of the perfect season wore on that team, and also how they played that year running up the score, I think it was draining on that tea. The Colts and Saints will be better off if they lose a game. The Giants DL played great in SB, but lets not forget it took a miracle catch for them to win that game.

When the cameragate was uncovered and Belicheat was not a genius as people thought. Also going on 4 and 2 from the 28 yard line with a 6 point lead.

When Tyree helmet grew velcro in the Super Bowl. That catch destroyed that team. The defense all started looking around at each other in disbelief.

Should we also let people know there is no Santa Claus, either. Even if you use the illegal videotaping lame argument "everyone was stealing signals", everyone wasn't tampering with radio frequencies and it was exactly that violation that placed the Patriots cheating in a unique and much more dishonest context. I've talked about this in threads before.
It still amazes me how few people realize this and very few make mention of this and try to explain the problem as being something else. Even so called successful sports gamblers and consultants. Their so called dynasty ended when it became harder to cheat. 3 stolen super bowls and the biggest choke job in super bowl history, some legacy.
If anything, they should be better now with Moss and Welker to throw to, and they weren't on the super bowl winning teams.
