Why did the NFL decide to start playing games on Thursdays?

i think its silly that the games aren't on a national network like NBC or ESPN. Lots of people don't even watch. Can't imagine it's soley because of the money

Because people want to watch NFL games 7 days a week and they were only on twice a week prior to the Thursday night games. It's a step in the right direction.

I think the Thursday game should be on Saturday. Saturday/Sunday/Monday schedule. no need for the midweek game

I wouldn't watch Thursday game even if I had the NFL Network. Saturday, Sunday, Monday or bust for the NFL for me.

Uhh...I get it for free. I dont pay extra. Yes, I understand that not all cable companies carry the NFL network. But my cable company carries it and I do not pay extra for it.

The games on the NFL network do suck though because the commentators are the worst.

I have yet to pay for the NFL Network as well, but if I was forced to, I would cut it.

It's funny, the guys I work with live about 10 miles from me and have a different cable company and dont get the NFL network. For me, it's cool being able to watch the Thursday games on the big screen. But I agree with you, if I had to pay for it, I would cut it.

BUT...On sundays the NFL network is cool for the scoreboard that they show. I can just flip the channel to the NFL Network to check up on socres instead of getting oline. Thats convenient.

The thursday games are no good as it is obvious the players are tired and not physically at top form. They should reconsider these games because the quality is no good.
