Do you have EXTERNAL HD for back-up :: Computers
I do now , a Seagate 1.5 TB Freeagent desktop. Got it last night at Frys <90.00 dollars

I decided not to use the backup software with the Ex. HD because it is plug/play and Windows7 did the backup for me. Also , transferring a lot of stuff over off of my internal drives

But , what happens if the Ex HD fails

You're screwed if it fails. If you have really important information, you could also use one of the online back solutions so if the hard drive crashes you still have the information.

Seems that way. Like putting all of your eggs in one basket.

These huge Ex HDs are so cheap now I'm wondering if one can run two ex drives in RAID ? If so , buying another 1.5 TB is an option.

About off site storage : Something about it I dont trust. There is a pvt issue.
