    David Stern on Gambling
Was watching espnews when this came across the screen.

"Commissioner David Stern tells SI.com that legalized betting on NBA games is a "possibility" that could create a new stream of revenue for the league. Stern says allowing gambling is "not our current position" and that he will "leave the slate clean for successor."

Does this mean that the nba facilitating wagers on nba games is a possibility in the future? This is the first ive heard of an idea like this.

Here is the link to the SI article.

Quite a change of theory. NBA is hurting in the revenue area.

Looking forward to following the development with Stern's successor.

He should stop blaming Donauhy and look at his refs instead of dening.

Look at the end of the Suns, Magic game, why re jump the ball, it was clearly off the Suns. If one can't see that on a replay they shouldn't be reffing.

Strange how it hasn't bothered Stern that a member team has employed a known tout for more than 20 years.

there's no reason for pro sports besides gambling. This business can't grow forever. Grown men aren't going to pay $100 to watch somebody dribble a basketball forever. Hype can only go so far.

I feel this would not be good at all. If the NBA takes control and not Las Vegas, then it truly would be a coin flip. Imagine, all games within the .5 of the line. The league in public eye view will be seen as scripted like the WWE. Its obviously fixed now, not all games but a good amount. I dunno, just dont think this would be the right direction in my opinion

This just proves Donaghy isnt a fraud that Stern would even consider this.

Stern has been taking bets for years and cashing in. He just makes sure all the stars get their rings and he cashes in. Do you think the NBA wont make sure Lebron wins one, please. All superstars in the NBA always get their ring. Stern is the most corrupt bastard running the most corrupt league in sports.
