I don't think that is going to happen. Barney Frank is trying to pass a bill to make it so the US Government will make some more money off of online gaming.

I was told that it is illegal to place bets offshore using any electrical device. Also heard that were i live up here in the north west its a felony if you get caught, but no one inforces the law. Im not 100% on this.

Some states have laws against betting on the internet, but there aren't any federal laws against placing them. There are federal laws against accepting bets - being a bookie.
