Has there been a Superbowl champ fall harder that Pitt?
If they lose this game, and they are losing and looking terrible, then this team has to be the fastest falling Superbowl champ in history right? Or at least in the running. They need to go see the wizard of oz and get a fvcking heart.

They are in the running to be worse than some from the past, John.
The '86 Giants fell pretty hard but they had the excuse of the replacement games. The Doug Williams led Redskins the following year were not much better as champs.
The Broncos after Elway left went from back to back Super Bowls to missing the playoffs - right up there with this bunch.

They don't have a running game and the defense is banged up. They're just not a good team. 6-7 and they need to run the table to even have a shot at the playoffs. I don't see it happening.

Yeah that was when the Jets crushed the Packers that last week. "You got to beat them in your house...your backyard" - another big Herm Edwards speech.

IMHO, never has a teams fortunes relied on a DEFENSIVE player, Polamalu, like this team appears. If he plays, they seem to do everything better, but when he's gone, even the offense suffers.

Favre was resting by the 2Q
I remember the crowd going crazy when they showed the Pats winning FG on the scoreboard! The place went nuts! The jets needed the Dolphins to lose to the Pats and the Pats needed the Jets to lose to the Pack!

Good post..
If Pitt can not beat Clev, Oak or KC they could easily end up 6-10. A lot of posts giving a healthy amount of blame on the defense and they are allowing long drives, but the offense is just terrible.

why did the steelers at the beginning of the game on 2nd down run for 9 yards, then 3rd and 1 pass incomplete, makes no sense, they do it all the time, pass on 1st, imcomplete, a good run on 2nd down, imcomplete on 4th down and then punt.
