Miles will probably go down as one of the worst coaches to every win a national championship. He'll never win won with his own players. It's pretty evident to the rest of the world that Saban is a 10x better coach than Miles will ever be.

Kelly is a winner on every level. He's something like 34-6 at UC, a program that was nothing before he got there. Yes, I feel terrible for the players and fans of Cincinnati but there was no way around it. If he wanted to take the ND job, he was not going to be allowed to spend the next few weeks preparing for the Sugar Bowl. This is probably the most important recruiting period of the year and ND can't afford to surrender an entire class like they did when Weis coached the Patriots last Superbowl victory.

Sure Kelly's defense this year wasn't Alabama, but it's still way better than ND's defense has been and that's with less "talent" (according to the rankings of the recruiting services) and with practically the entire defense leaving last year.

Anyone who didn't expect him to take this job is out of their minds. UC's stadium seats 35k and they don't even have a practice field. ND has multiple outdoor practice fields and a full-scale indoor one with a stadium that's sat 90k for every game the last 30 years. UC was a basketball school before Kelly got there, and ND is arguably the most historic and prestigious football school in the entire country. His status as a football coach legend if he returns ND to glory is 100x greater than whatever he could accomplish at UC.

Miles has won while they been coaching there and has beaten them also. Meyer has a lot of holes to fill next year and it will be a rebuilding year for them just like LSU has been doing. Bama will lose a good bit also. Next year LSU will be favored to win the SEC believe it or not!

I'm friends with a number of players on the team (including one of those 5-star players who has an NFL future). I can promise you that none of them have been given cars or cash by alumni or anyone else. Many of them still live in the dorms! And Notre Dame also honors the full scholarship, even when a kid gets hurt unlike many other schools.
