Ok so we all know someone who claims to have some sort of unbelievable power or ability. Usually claiming to have psychic powers or some sort of outlandish communication ability.
Yesterday I went into the corner market for a beer. I set the 24oz. tall Bud on the counter and the clerk (who is new) grabbed it to turn the bar code towards her scanner and jumped like something shocked her. She stared at me with huge eyes and asked me if I "felt the energy". No I didnt feel the energy. She went on to blab about how the can was probably recycled from a WW2 weapon or tool and that she saw images of a battle flash through her head. I shrugged and said "wow". She continued on and on about some ability that she has where she can see the past by touching certain objects or pictures. I wanted my beer so I told her I was in a hurry and she checked me out.
Personally I'm really over this kind of bullshit. Its becoming more and more common to run into these people with this affinity for the supernatural. We all know its mostly bullshit.
So what gives, is it a cry for attention? Drugs? Stupidity? The lack of common sense and understanding for how most things work?
For instance: My niece one day tried to convince me that she could hear dead people through her clock radio. She went on and on how it only happens when she is there and nobody else can hear it. After a look around I unplugged her wireless router and moved her new Ipod away from the clock radio. That was the end of her thinking she was the next Dionne Warwick.
How stupid do people have to be to fall for this crap? The bullshit ghost hunter shows and that Edwards fukk. Come on.
