WOW! what he says is some scary shit. He specifies that refs target certain players and call plays against them deliberatly, during the playoffs they try to get the big market teams as far as they can and try to extend series as long as possible, and that this is all common through many refs. The NBA tries to frame donaghy as all by himself with this, but i def believe him. If gambling wasn't hard enough now we have to worry about bullshit that the refs do that could cost us games. If you haven't seen any of this interview it is extremely intersting.

This was common knowledge to everyone, you ddint no this? even the 6 year old that watches basketball knew this.

Of course from a marketing standpoint, they will give more calls to the team loosing in the series. If the series gets extended then it makes more money for the NBA and everyone involved. And actually im ok with this. The part that makes you sick is when the series is tied and they deliberately want one team to win ( the bigger market team), thats the key to it all. But as far as extending a series to make more money, that was no surprise to anyone.

your looking to extend a series but you never flat out make the team win, unless your the 02 lakers. The magic were completely outmatched and the refs would had to do some stuff Stevie wonder wud see to make that a close series.

I'm guessing since this interview, many refs will put their personal agenda aside if they plan on being an NBA ref in the future. I know the league and players will be watching very closely.

Who cares...fixed or not there is 1 winner and 1 loser. If you are on the right side of the fix I'm sure you wouldn't be complaining. If you are still shocked by this and think it still exist then don't bet the NBA. But people should really do their homework, this is nothing new, fixing in sports has been going on as long as sports have existed.

Everyone is watching ref stats very closely now. I even track 'em.

You can bet your sweet ass Stern's bean-counters are tracking this.
