The Yankees might play Mariano Rivera in CF against the Astros.
Joe Girardi said this tonight.

i am going to go to the game and heckle him about how he wasn't good enough to be a starter and how relievers are overvalued.

Yankees 'absolutely' considering playing Mariano Rivera in center
With his career coming to a close, it's possible we may see Mariano Rivera somewhere other than on the mound. Manager Joe Girardi said Thursday he is "absolutely" considering letting his closer play an inning in center field during the team's final series this weekend.
Rivera, 43, has been shagging fly balls during batting practice his entire career. Those around him claim he's the best athlete on the team and can run down fly balls with the best of them. Rivera suffered a season-ending knee injury taking a misstep in the outfield during batting practice last May.
Girardi confirmed Rivera will pitch regardless of score Thursday night, the team's final home game of the season. He will not play center field, however, because the game is meaningful to the Rays and the Yankees want to respect the pennant race.
New York opens a three-game series with the Astros in Houston on Friday. Those games are not meaningful to either team.
i probably wont go. i could only go on sunday and i think i would rather watch football. plus i live by reliant and it is a bitch with the traffic on game day.

they should. They are playing like they can't wait to end the season and this is when they were in it. Basically just quit against Tampa. i wonder if they will win one against shitty Houston. Imagine u are getting paid like this to play a game and ya just quit like pussy's

Fukkin tickets are 5X normal price for Sunday's game. Hell I was going to go myself, but I'm not paying $150 for a $35 ticket.

Will be fun to watch this. Would be nice if the Astros did something similar to even it out.

Bring back Charlie Kerfield and put him in Center.
