    $12 Loyalty Bonus
I just received this from RebateWager. Not sure how to attack it, because I typically wager $50-$75 per game. My balance had been at -$29 due to some mixup on my rebate, so really it was a $41 gift.

Any advice on how I can take advantage of this gift and maybe turn it into something??

I said I was taking a break for a month or so...............I logged into my rb account to see if they posted Bowl line yet, to realize I had received a loyalty bonus. Didn't really feel like requesting a $12 payout.

I'm up about $600 the past month (even with these sick beats, should be up like $1,500) I'm calling 5Dimes first thing in the morning, and withdrawing everything I have, and enjoy it with my family over the Holiday season. This gambling sh!t is going to make me miserable, I find myself sweating every game out, and it's just not healthy. I'm glad I have the self-control to get out of this garbage before its too late. In the long term, your not supposed to win in this game, or else sportsbooks would not be open for business. If I don't get out now, I will chase, and have no account by Wednesday. I'm really upset the way things have gone down for me the past few days, but I think its a blessing in disguise. I will still be around here, playing around with my points and chiming in. But for the gambling aspect, its just not for me. I've been a recreational, and tried to take it a little more serious, but I sense detriment to my health and marriage. I wish everyone the best of luck.
Doesn't sound like someone takin a break to me, sounds like someone quittin the game.

Sure DrStale......I was ranting and raving in that post, but a few posts later within the same thread I allowed the jets to cool a little bit and explained that I needed some time off leading up to the Holidays.

I had the self control, made my withdraw, and have not made a wager since. Things have been great the last few weeks, not having to check scores and spending quality time with my family. But as most can account, gambling is in our blood. I have enough self control where I would never jeopardize my earnings, my marriage or anything of that nature. I would never ever deposit more then I could afford to lose. I might deposit 4-5% of my monthly income every couple of months, not that big of a deal. I am a recreational, and I am not cut out for big time gambling. As you can see in my post above, if I got myself that worked up when I was winning, imagine if I were losing? WOW.

I was out of character a couple weeks ago, but other then that blowup, gambling is nothing more then fun. I'm sure if I looked into the archives, I would find a blowup or two on your part.

Man if the last few weeks have been great then stay the hell away. It's only a matter of time before getting knocked on your ass again (for you, me, any of us).

You may have written what you did in the heat of the moment, but that doesn't make it wrong. It seems fine now because you're idealizing gambling. The hang out, watch your team win solidly after you capped a game well kind of idealizing that is the exception rather than the norm. Think about what you wrote, the sweating every game out, unhealthy watching as your team blows a 20 point lead. That is the real fate of the gambler. Don't get sucked back in if you're already on the outside. Put the needle down and walk away.

One straight bet at a time, keep going all in. Hit five in a row and you'll be over 300, assuming you steer clear of ML chalk.

Sure Man........I started to take this stuff too serious. I've been gambling maybe 7 years or so, and never have I got so involved as I did in the past few months. With a couple steps back, I think I've put things back into perspective.

This is more of a hobby for me then a way of life or means of income. I'm confident that I can get back to acting like the recreational bettor I have always been and enjoy it for what it is, and maybe make a buck along the way.

In the meantime, let's see if this little parlay hits. If not, no biggie right?

Sure...only $12 but I remember all too well what a bad beat feels like, haha! San Antonio builds a 17 point lead, only to let to slide. Then San Antonio not ONE but TWO possessions to win the game in the final seconds, and blow both. I bet if I had Utah the result would have been different.

But like I said, $12 no biggie. Time to step back away, gave me excitement and disappointment one more time.
