    Betting against the public...
Does anyone do this? What I mean is look at where the majority of the public is betting and then jump on the other side... Do you think it would be a successful way to bet if you did it 100% of the time over the long term?

If you bet only RLM(reverse line movement), i believe its profitable(confirmation on this?).

I think so. Look at today. If you bet:
      Oakland
      Cleveland
      Arizona
      Jacksonville
      NY Giants
      Detroit
      Miami
      Washington

You'd have had a pretty good day

If correct, any theories as to why? I guess one thoery is that vegas knows better than the average punter. It raises another possibility, teams tanking in exchange for backhanders from vegas.

Most bettors are recreational, so make bettors take the square play which will result in 67%+ on one side. Its just vegas being smarter than the average bettor.

Vegas Ideal percentage is 50/50 on each game. That way they earn risk free money off of the vig. So they move the line accordingly.

Just do it and win! People have their theories against, but it works... And keep it to the bigger televised games...You would have cleaned up today.

We are all "the public" I never understood this argument.

I hate being on the side of the majority (most people's view of the "public" side)

Smart Money and RLM are profitable on the long run. Specially in ML sports like hockey and baseball..

IT DON'T ALWAYS WORK. Even today.

over 90% was on Cleveland Cavs, and they covered.
over 90% was on New York Knicks, and they covered.
Everyone had the over for KC/Den and it went over.

but yeah, the oddsmakers are just sharper than us (brrpt)

anyway, how come Mods can have 70 accounts and we aren't allowed to ghost. Like a Noob is gonna come in and start posting a bunch of relevant threads. No noob is gonna have the sack to just start posting new threads. Well maybe. Its a longshot though. And no noob is gonna promote SBR casino. But it's cool guys, thanks for the pizzas. from, Celatinous Gube.
