    Gambling Killing Sex Drives?
I read a study recently which said that gambling affects the level of saratonin in one's system, which subsequently has an adverse impact on sex drives. Has anyone found that to be true? I've gambled, handicapped, etc. for the better part of three decades, and I can honestly say when I'm in the midst of a lot of action that my desire to be involved in anything but the action goes way down. I've watched game in and game out, every miracle card pull imaginable, and every horse scenario alive, but still just love the action. My sex drive I'm sure does go down as a result, but it's not something you realize off the bat. Those under say thirty might not be as affected, but I could be wrong.

I've had a lot of great things happen to me in this lifetime as a result of gambling (trips, free time, etc.), but losing a spouse, losing time with family you'll never get back, not having "office picnics," and knowing that you contribute nothing to the overall good of society are certainly downsides to the lifestyle....

Most gamblers like action more than girls, winning or losing big bets is like cumming and better than sex. I never think of sex when action on games.

True once married the sex is gone

Well, to be honest, a winning night puts me IN the mood.

              I won last night.

              I'm tired.

this is coming from some schmo who hasn't gotten it up in over 9 years even with 2000 ** of generic viagra. all he has his puddy. along with his grandfather clock, he pawned off his doll "with holes in all the right places"

                    Alan Boston said it best

""A lot of gamblers say the action replaces sex, but I really think they mean it replaces relationships and fear of socializing. We're all outcast and gambling occupies our time and we get paid for it.
For me for sure it was a way to make money an be by myself.Now.its become an obsession.I don't think its an addiction.I don't think. But then again, I have no life"

It's true......i am thinking more about what type of outing Byung yung Kim is going to give me today than sex. It's like this every day.

That's a great quote by Alan Boston...it pretty much sums it up.

It definitely replaces being social with people, I am posting in a basement right now in the dark and real happy. All I have to do is meet my bookmkaers to even up and that is about it with people for the most part.

I have some HS buds though.

False. No matter if I got action or not, I will get down with a lady at anytime. But I do fall under that 30 category, for a few more months anyway.

I can't say how much of it is due to gambling versus age (almost 40) and marriage a year ago (no more variety), but I do believe gambling has reduced my sex drive and desire to socialize.

Add a few kids, and it's over. I wish I had a dark basement down here in Florida.

                                  Interesting observation. Definitely true.

Philip Seymour Hoffman in gambling flick Owning Mahowny:
"Can you rate the thrill of gambling on a scale of 1 to 100?"
                                  "100".
"And the biggest thrill outside of gambling?"
                                  "20".
"Can you live on 20 percent?"

Marriage is a gamble. So is every other important decision the outcome of which we don't know with 100% certainty. I have yet to meet the first non-gambler.

Unless non-gamblers are those easily intimidated individuals who seek safety and certainty in unproven black-or-white dogma, those dark age individuals who feel threatened by uncertainty and probability, those imbeciles who could never embrace life's exciting fluidity.

God bless the gamblers! For verily I say unto you, the Good Lord was the first of them, or He would not have created man.
