#13BTW, I think Notre Dame itself thinks this is a way better job than it actually is. I said a week ago I think its Skip Holtz, and I still think that. This program needs to get some credibility back and Skip Holtz has the last name for that. Skip brought ECU to prominance in Conference USA over the past five years after working as an assistant coach for ND. The new irish coach comes from one of these four, Jim Harbaugh, Urban Meyer, Brain Kelly, or Skip Holtz. I believe it will be Holtz.Comment -

It's hard to fully understand..... but this is considered THE TOP COACHING JOB. Mack Brown was interviewed the other day and he was talking about why Stoops or Meyer or any other coach would want that job. IF you are a decent coach.... you should have Notre Dame in a BCS game EVERY YEAR. You make your own schedule, you have the best tv contract, no conference championship game to worry about..... and my favorite part...... YOU GET TO COACH INTELLIGENT KIDS!I wonder if the Texas players were offended by that remark?!?!

#25Skip Holtz would fail because he is not used to coaching against BCS teams on a consistant level. One year of success means nothing. He lost to West Virginia, Va. Tech, and UNC this year. His overall record against BCS teams is 6-12. That certainly is nothing to write home about. He would be a terrible hire for Notre Dame.Comment -

#26How bout because he's an 80 year old man? No way Notre Dame makes this mistake. If they could get there hands on Brian Kelly, this program will be back on the right track, and will be once again a national powerhouse in no time.Comment -

#27Knute Rockne's agent has also inquired about getting his client an interview. Apparently Rockne says he will consider it, but only if he can have George Gipp for an offensive coordinator. More on this story as it develops.Comment -
