I just built a new computer so I can gamble more & faster. I opted to try windows 7. Let me tell you, its pretty slick. Very fast as well!

i don't know one person who upgraded to it. I won't bother, just wait and get it when i need a new PC, which is about every 2 or 3 years. They are so cheap now compared to what they used to cost, especially for what you get.

Its similar enough to let people from vista migrate without a hiccup, but introduces many nice features.

Good points Brock
Secondly all new computers run well the 1st year and then take 2hr to load
Unless you have a Mac that is just as good they day you buy it and they day you get rid of it even if 10 years.

My IT guy for our office dropped me off a burned copy with key. Not sure where he gets the product keys but he does....
Nothing like free windows 7.......but I have to say, it's nothing special.

Windows 7 is head and shoulders above Vista, especially in the stability stakes. Definitely upgrade to Windows 7, well worth it. Vista was a piece of shit.

Abe, the number of times Vista crashed on me was incredible. I've missed placing winning bets a few times because Vista crashed my web browser, and I was trying to place the bet around the close. I lost about 400 data entries because I forgot to save and Vista crashed my Excel. Both my faults, one for leaving it so late, and the other for forgetting to save but both are not a single issue with Windows 7.
That is only the gambling side though. For starters, I couldn't install Zone Alarm on Vista because it would make Vista BSOD (blue screen of death), no drivers for a number of my peripherals worked/constantly gave errors. Then the automatic updates didn't install half the time. There's probably loads of stuff I can't even remember, as I moved across to Windows 7 as soon as they released it to beta testers...since April I think?
Anyway, I've had no problems at all with Windows 7, and the best part is that it finds the drivers for almost everything and updates all drivers for everything automatically too.

I'm coming over from XP but I like windows 7 better than xp and the brief month that I ran vista (went back to xp bc it sucked)
plus you can get windows 7 for 30 bucks with a .edu email address

The school versions are full versions of windows 7 ultimate. There is nothing different from the school version and the retail version. EXCEPT on the school version the packaging is MINIMAL. You just get a disk in a disk sleeve, and on the disk it says student version only. I can only buy it once per semester.
